2.21. The thermostat of the air filter (carburettor engines)

THE GENERAL DATA

The thermostat provides giving of the warmed-up air in the air filter at various temperature of the engine.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Thermostat work is checked visually by means of a mirror.

2. Find заслонку the thermostat.

3. On some cars disconnect an air line of cold air from a filter bell in a direction specified by an arrow (1). Заслонка (2) it should be visible through a bell.

4. At engine warming up заслонка should block gradually a filter bell which the hose from a final collector and a prestarting heater joins.

5. After engine warming up заслонка (1) should open completely the channel of cold air (subsection 6.5 see).
