2.16. Exhaust system check

THE GENERAL DATA

Check is carried out on the cold engine (after not less than three hours after a stop). Check up a condition of all details of an exhaust system, beginning from the engine and to terminal section of the muffler. Is better to check from outside the bottoms, on the lifted car when unlimited access to all details of system is provided.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check up presence on pipes and connections presence of corrosion, mechanical damages, presence of leak of exhaust gases. Be convinced of durability of fastening of details of system.

2. Check up a condition of connection of exhaust pipes (it is specified by an arrow).

3. Check up a condition of rubber suspension brackets of pipes (it is specified by an arrow).

4. At the same time examine a condition of the bottom of the car, check up presence of corrosion, the through apertures, the dispersed seams, through which exhaust gases can get to car salon. Close up all through apertures in the bottom of a body silicone шпаклевкой.

5. Knocks and other noise can be often caused exhaust system details, especially in places of their fastening. Shake pipes, mufflers, каталитический the converter. If these details come to contact with suspension bracket details replace elements of fastening of an exhaust system.
