THE FUEL PUMP

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Include ignition (the engine not to start).
2. Connect a crosspiece conclusions In + and FP on a diagnostic socket.

The prevention

On all cars of 1988-1994 the diagnostic socket differs. Be guided by distributing of a socket specified on the tablet which is strengthened under a socket.


3. On cars of 1995 of release food giving on the fuel pump through a diagnostic socket is not provided. On these cars for reading of pressure of fuel it is necessary to start the engine.
4. After перемыкания the specified conclusions to the fuel pump pressure moves. In a place under a back seat pump work should be listened, and on a hose from the fuel filter pressure of fuel should be felt.
5. Disconnect a crosspiece. Establish заглушку on a diagnostic socket.
6. Switch off ignition.
7. If the pump does not work, check up a safety lock of the main relay of system of injection (EFI-relay) on 15 And.
8. Check up a fusible insert of the ignition key on 30 And (insert АМ2, see subsection 11.3).
9. Check up the main relay of system of injection (EFI-relay) and the relay of the fuel pump.
10. Check up pressure presence on fuel the pump.
11. Check up conducting and sockets.
12. Cars after 1993 it is equipped in addition the relay of inclusion of the fuel pump on which also it is necessary to check up pressure.

PRESSURE OF FUEL

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. For performance described below procedure the manometre on pressure not less than 3 кГс/см2 is required. The hose tip should have a type design "банджо", i.e. be condensed with a bolt with the internal through channel
2. In the absence of a special manometre, get the ready union of type "банджо", with internal diameter 12 mm to which the hose with a collar from your manometre approaches.
3. In the absence of the ready union it can be made of a bolt with carving М12х1,25 mm. Grind off a head of a bolt and drill two apertures – one through on the bolt centre, and another – on the centre across a bolt, crossed with a longitudinal aperture. Screw a nut and a counternut, having condensed a carving with a teflon tape.
4. Turn away a stopper of a jellied mouth of a tank.
5. Be convinced that pressure on the battery not below 12 Century
6. Execute декомпрессию fuel system.
7. At presence on an adapter manometre, turn away a bolt on the distributor and screw an adapter.
8. An adapter made independently, screw, рка it is shown on a photo.
9. A manometre connect in a following order:

  – In the presence of "a regular" manometre connect it to a special adapter established on the fuel distributor;
  – Necessarily establish new linings on both parties of an adapter;
  – Independently made adapter screw in the fuel filter, tighten a counternut;
  – Attach a hose of a manometre and fix a collar.
10. Wipe the gasoline spilt from the distributor of fuel or from the filter.
11. Put the lever of the selector of automatic transmission in position Park, or the gear change lever in neutral position.
12. On all cars of 1988-1994 connect накоротко conclusions In + and FP on a diagnostic socket by means of a special crosspiece.

The prevention

On cars of 1995 food giving on the fuel pump through a diagnostic socket is not provided. On these cars for reading of pressure of fuel it is necessary to start the engine.


13. Include ignition (the engine not to start). Consider the indication of pressure and compare it to the standard.
14. If pressure raised check up a return gasoline pipe line. If gasoline passes through a gasoline pipe line replace a regulator of pressure of fuel.
15. If pressure lowered press a return gasoline pipe line. If pressure increases, replace a regulator of pressure of fuel. If pressure does not increase, check up a highway of giving of fuel, the fuel pump and the fuel filter.
16. Remove a crosspiece from a diagnostic socket, or from a socket of the fuel pump.
17. Start the engine.
18. Check up pressure of fuel idling, result compare to the standard.
19. If pressure differs from standard check up a vacuum hose and a regulator of pressure of fuel.
20. Stop the engine and be convinced that pressure of fuel remains at level 1,3 кГс/см2 within 5 minutes after a stop. If pressure falls down faster the reason can be leak in the fuel pump, a regulator of pressure or in an atomizer.
