7.2.2. Transmission diagnostics

THE GENERAL DATA

The prevention

Malfunction of the engine (capacity loss), wrong adjustments, refusals of hydraulic system of transmission, mechanical drive and processor control system can be principal causes of abnormal work of transmission. First of all it is necessary to check up level and a liquid condition, to adjust draughts. If these measures do not lead to positive result it is necessary to address in car-care centre.

Preliminary checks

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Warm up transmission, having made a trip. 2. Check up level and a liquid condition. 3. If level below norm restore level and check up leak presence (see more low). 4. If level above norm merge a part of a liquid and check up presence of pollution by a cooling liquid which could get because of leak in a radiator. 5. If spumescence merge a liquid is found out and replace. 6. Check up turns of idling of the engine. If necessary execute repair and adjust, as the further check of transmission is not meaningful. 7. Believe adjustment and work of a mechanical drive of transmission.

Check of a condition of transmission on liquid leak

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The liquid leak is easily established visually and eliminated by replacement of epiploons or linings. 2. For detection слабозаметной leaks park the car after a trip on some km over a cardboard or paper blank leaf. After nearby 2 mines the leak can be found out. 3. Immediately clear картер and check up a condition of consolidations in suspected places. 4. If the leak thus is not found out, carefully wash out картер solvent and dry. 5. Make a trip and attentively examine картер. 6. If the leak place is established, define the reason of a leak and a way of repair (for example, lining replacement it is impossible to eliminate a leak if demountable planes сдеформированы). 7. Before leak elimination analyse the leak reasons, provide elimination described below malfunctions. The prevention Some kinds of works on elimination of following malfunctions can be executed only in car-care centre as the special tool and certain qualification is required.

LEAK FROM UNDER THE LINING

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Periodically check a condition of the pallet of transmission, an inhaling of bolts, a condition of a demountable plane of the pallet and a lining. 2. Increase of pressure or level of a liquid owing to a contamination of ventilating apertures, deformations of the pallet or its demountable plane, discrepancy of the applied mark of hermetic recommended, defects of moulding of the pallet can be the reasons of a leak from under pallet linings.

LEAK FROM UNDER THE EPIPLOON

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Flow an epiploon can to be caused increases of pressure or level of a liquid owing to a contamination of ventilating apertures, wrong installation of an epiploon, damage of a condensed neck of a shaft or deterioration of the bearing. 2. Check periodically tightness of consolidation of a branch pipe of the index and a speedometer reducer. 3. At leak detection replace a sealing ring.

CARTER'S LEAK

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The leak картера is caused by defects of moulding, in this case repair or replace картер. 2. Check reliability of fastening of hoses of a cooler of a liquid.

LEAK FROM САПУНА OR THE REFUELING BRANCH PIPE

The leak from сапуна specifies in transmission overflow, hit of a cooling liquid, porosity of a material картера, wrong position of the index, a contamination of ventilating and drainage channels.

Tests in road conditions

TEST AT POSITION OF THE SELECTOR IN RANGE DRIVE

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Translate the selector in range DRIVE and disperse the car. 2. Switch the selector in positions 1–2, 2–3 or 3–OD. 3. The hydrotransformer should be blocked on 1st or 2nd transfers, or on transfer OD. Press a pedal throttle заслонки on 3/4 courses – there should be a switching on a hill-climbing gear.

TEST AT POSITION OF THE SELECTOR IN RANGE RANGE 2

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Translate during movement transmission in position RANGE 2. 2. Transmission should be switched immediately to a hill-climbing gear, return switching in position Overdrive should not be. 3. Check up switching on a hill-climbing gear at partial and full opening throttle заслонки.

RANGE LOW

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Translate the selector in position LOW. 2. Check up transmission work.

Braking check in different modes of movement

MOVEMENT НАКАТОМ AT THE INITIAL GREAT SPEED

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Translate the selector on transfer of the lowered range. 2. Engine turns should increase, the effect of braking should be felt.

BACKING

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Translate the selector in position REVERSE. 2. Check up transmission work.

The general checks

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check up serviceability and engine adjustments. 2. Check up adjustment of a cable throttle заслонки. 3. Check up a condition of hoses and transmission conducting. 4. Check up adjustment of the selector of transmission. 5. If after these checks abnormal work of transmission address in car-care centre for pressure check in a transmission highway is still observed.
