5.2. Engines with fuel injection
THE GENERAL DATA

Into structure of fuel system enter:

  – A fuel tank;
  – The electric fuel pump (it is mounted in a tank);
  – The main relay of system of injection and the relay of the fuel pump;
  – Atomizers;
  – A regulator of pressure of fuel;
  – The air filter;

Cars with the engine 3F-E are equipped 1988-92 by system of electronic injection of fuel (EFI-system).

Cars since 1993 with the engine 1FZ-FE are equipped by advanced system of direct injection. The injection system on later models differs little changes of systems of regulation of pressure and monitoring of the expense of air.

SYSTEM OF ELECTRONIC INJECTION OF FUEL

In system of direct injection fuel is entered into each cylinder through atomizers. Injection system the processor block (block ECM) which sets duration of impulses (quantity of fuel) in reply to operates signalling from various gauges of the engine. The quantity of air in a gas mixture is set throttle заслонкой. Pressure of fuel is regulated by means of the vacuum distributive valve (VSV-valve). THE FUEL PUMP AND HIGHWAYS

Fuel circulation is provided with the electropump through pair steel tubes. Return of the evaporated fuel to a tank is provided with catching system through a separate tube. The pump works at receipt of basic impulses from the ignition block on the processor block. In the absence of these impulses the pump is disconnected after 2–3 seconds

EXHAUST SYSTEM

The system structure in addition includes the gauge of oxygen and 3-componental neutralizer which concerns system of clearing of the fulfilled gases and is built in in an exhaust pipe for the purpose of decrease in toxicity of emissions.
